Pastor Mark Hunsaker

Mark was ordained into pastoral ministry on June 21, 2015. After 20 years in the field of Information Technology, having split that time as technician, instructor, and consultant, Jesus led Mark to Concordia Seminary where his lifelong path of taking complex things and helping people understand them in a simple way was put to use for the Gospel.

His first deployment was to a church planting environment in Branson, Missouri, where he participated in the planting of both Praise & Worship in Branson and Restore in Hollister. These congregations were both started with the purpose of meeting people where they are at and bringing Jesus to them. This same heart and purpose is now being put to work at Hope Lutheran Church in Austin, Texas!

Married to Debbie for over thirty years, having celebrated with three amazing adult children and their families, Mark remains committed to Jesus’ instruction that His disciples would be known by their undeserved love for one another and the world (see John 13:34-35).

Mark’s continued emphasis for accomplishing the mission is to unleash the Good News of Jesus through proclamation (Jesus loves YOU!), explanation (He did this by dying on the cross and rising from the dead!), demonstration (we now love and serve one another because He first loved us), and incarnation (He literally dwells in us to empower us to embody Him to the world).
